RECEIVE • REPLICATE • RING-OUT
OUR PROCESS
When the people believe in Jesus in the Bible, they are often depicted as beginning a process afterward. This organic process moved them in their simple, saving faith in Christ to continued growth in their knowledge of God and their service of others. At Robertsville Bible Church, we want to create an easy process that moves people in their growing relationship with Jesus.

Our process is primarily derived from one passage, 1 Thessalonians 1:6-8, all though this concept is seen often in the New Testament.

1 Thessalonians 1:6–8 — 6 And ye became followers [imitators] of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
1. Receive
The stipulation for becoming imitators of Jesus is first receiving the Word - believing in the gospel. At Robertsville Bible Church, we want people to meet Jesus and believe in Him and we try to start the process in a few ways.
-
Receive 101 - Answers to Gospel Questions is the first part of our "R" classes, that take students through the basics of the gospel and Christianity. This is one great way for those with doubts and questions to understand the gospel.
-
The morning service is another excellent way for someone to receive Jesus. All of the Bible points to Jesus, so while preaching through books of the Bible, the gospel is delivered frequently.
-
Personal evangelism and Bible study. We strive to equip our church with the tools they need to lead someone to Jesus.
So, you've believed. Then what?
2. Replicate
Once someone comes to Jesus, it’s time for them to live like Him. The timing of this is important, because without believing in Jesus you can't begin living like Jesus. At Robertsville, we try to move people in replicating Jesus through education and fellowship – two things the early church did really well (Acts 2:41-43).
Once you get saved, you should join an “R” or a Sunday school class.
-
“R” classes work like a school system and move you through 5 10 week sections of classes starting with the gospel and ending with apologetics and evangelism – from 101 to 501.
-
Sunday school classes typically teach through books or sections of the Bible. Both of these provide relationships with those in the classes as well as deepening faith and knowledge of God’s Word.

Then what?
3. Ring out
Once you believe in Jesus and begin growing in Him, it’s time to start serving Him! Step three and step two become simultaneous but often start in this order. At Robertsville Bible Church, we try to move people to ring out the gospel in two ways – evangelism and service.
-
All believers are called to evangelism (Matthew 28:19-20) and it’s evident that the early church did witness effectively (1 Thes. 1:8). We want to equip believers to make other believers and give them a church to invite them to hear the gospel and join the process.
-
All believers are part of the body of Jesus here on earth and should do their part to serve the body (Ephesians 4:11-13). One goal at RBC is to train men to be future pastors who can continue the work of our church for generations!

Then what? Keep replicating Jesus and ringing out His truth!
Our History
“The founders of Robertsville Bible Church believed that the pastor of the church should stand upon the Word of God. They accomplished this literally by taking a hollowed-out stone and placing a Bible in it. This stone with the Bible was placed under the church building below the location of the pulpit. The stone rested under the church building from 1883 till the building was replaced. The stone and Bible now sit on the platform of the new church. The hope of the founders is lived out each Sunday as the Word of God is faithfully preached.

We still use our Bibles in the church services just like the founders of Robertsville Bible Church did so many years ago. The hallmark of RBC is our relationship with the Bible. Services and music reflect the traditional heritage of the church.

Rev. McElvaine saw a need for a Bible believing congregation in the Marlboro area and organized the church in 1882. Pastor McElvaine served as pastor until 1917. In 1883, the Church trustees purchased the current property in 2 Church Road in Morganville. The Church originally was known as the Robertsville Methodist-Protestant Church. The area of Marlboro the Church is located in once served as the home of the Roberts Stagecoach Line. The founders of the Church used the name Robertsville to identify the location of the Church.
The congregation participated in the formation of the Bible Protestant Fellowship which later became the Fellowship of Fundamental Bible Churches. The Church members also assisted in the formation of the American Council of Christian Churches. During the 1970’s the congregation changed the name to Robertsville Bible Church. Over the years the Spencer Fellowship Hall and Cherry Auditorium (gymnasium) were added. The Church family recently completed construction of the current sanctuary. Some of the older Church members still remember the horse barns and outhouses used many years ago. With indoor plumbing, central heat, air conditioning, and cushioned pews, the facilities are much improved since 1883.
Our Beliefs from the Bible
The doctrinal standard of this Church is as follows:
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the supreme authority in faith and life. Psalm 119:89, 105, 160; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:24-25; 2 Peter 1:21
We believe in the divine Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal God Who became sinless man through the virgin birth. We believe in the substitutionary atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ for sinful mankind. John 1:1, 14, 18; Hebrews 1:6-8; 1 John 5:20
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but in Adam all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are hopelessly lost in sin apart from God’s grace. Genesis 1:27; 3:1-14; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-10
We believe that the only way to be saved is by faith in the substitutionary death and bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8; 10:9-13; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 John 5:11-13
We believe that the church (body of Christ) began on the day of Pentecost, and is composed of all true believers. The local church is a company of believers, having been baptized by immersion in water, whose duty it is to worship God, observe the ordinances, edify itself, and evangelize the world. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22-23
We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for the church followed in order by the Tribulation, Second Coming of Christ to the earth, Millennial Kingdom of Christ, the Great White Throne Judgment for the unsaved who will be in an eternal state of punishment in the Lake of Fire, a new heaven and new earth for the eternal state of blessing for the saved. Matthew 24:21, 29; 25:46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10; 20:1-15

We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11, 16
Authority of Statement of Faith
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the foregoing statement of faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible. A full doctrinal statement may be provided upon request.
